The joke is on the shareholders

If it looks like ponzi and smells like ponzi and grows like ponzi, it's a duck?

Except Ponzi's don't ever make or sell anything, just keep taking money from new investors to make payments to earlier ones. Only problem he has at the moment is keeping up supply of his "cheap" electric cars. Did a fine job of building a batteryon time and budget in SA.

Yes, its a duck. It has Ponzi 'feel' though

Let's not look at the Model 3 production fail and the reasons for it. Instead, "Look look children, a truck!"

Tesla are not going to be able to compete with the Chinese. The biggest E car and battery producers and users at 1/3 the production cost. They have the political will to push E cars and are doing it.

    Tesla will crash and burn.

In the meantime, the weirdness of the share price going up whilst the losses accumulate with no profit in sight will almost be as interesting as the next rocket launch.

There must be a name for that. 'Dot com' bubble perhaps.

The Cult of Elon. Sounds like a Startrek episode.

"The cult of Elon" really is a thing. The new Steve Jobs? John Delorean perhaps.

Charismatic people but Jobs had a thing about turning a profit from innovative products, retaining the profit and running little debt in relation to their cash position.

I doubt the balance sheet shows where the real money will come from. The Air Force and NSA like his launch platform and his recent test even flew the van Allen belt as a test for future Air Force payloads.

Like Jobs, Musk serves a good purpose, he pushes the boundaries with the hi-tech (but expensive) and the Chinese and Koreans will come to the party with the lower spec, reasonably priced alternatives. Someone's got to lead.

But mentioning De Lorean raises a thought, what about "Back to the Future Again", this time the time machine's a Tesla Roadster parked in front of Michael J Fox's and Christopher Lloyd's retirement home.....ACROD parking, of course.
